Introducing Dr. Rachel Ingram
Dr. Rachel Ingram grew up in Oak Park, IL with a younger brother, her parents, and her grandparents. Both her parents have worked in the healthcare field for many years. Her father was raised in Hinsdale, IL and is a physician who specialized in emergency medicine. Her mother moved from the Philippines to study to become a nurse practitioner. Having been raised by health professionals, Dr. Ingram was taught to value education and the compassion needed to help others. As she continued through her schooling, she developed a desire to help within the healthcare field as well.
Dr. Ingram completed her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2011 and her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2003. Between her time at university, she spent her time living, working, and taking classes in the Champaign-Urbana area, including at Parkland College.
While completing her dental degree Dr. Ingram became very interested in public health, especially oral health education and disease prevention. Her clinical experience includes providing comprehensive dental care for families at a community health clinic in Chicago, contributing to the Illinois State Dental Society’s Illinois Mission of Mercy and Give Kids a Smile, providing screenings and treatment to underserved children and adults through Smile Healthy, and working in private practice. Her professional affiliations include membership in the American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society, and Academy of General Dentistry. On top of working in private practice since completing her dental degree, since 2013 she has also been working part-time with Smile Healthy in Champaign.
With a background in fine arts, Dr. Ingram is committed to helping her patients achieve and maintain the beautiful smiles they are looking for. She is passionate about oral health and strives to educate her patients while working with them to realize their dental goals.
Dr. Ingram is currently living in Champaign with her husband, Mike, who is a musician. In her free time, Dr. Ingram can be found spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys live music, reading, and traveling.
