Introducing Dr. Eric Martin
Dr. Martin has provided dental care to Champaign-Urbana area residents since 1999. He graduated from Northwestern University Dental School in 1998, and then spent the following year in a general practice residency in the Navy at Great Lakes Naval Hospital. The residency allowed him to develop further expertise in all areas of general dentistry.
Dr. Martin focuses on continuing education that helps to incorporate the latest and greatest technology such as CEREC single-visit restorations and computer-guided implant surgery into his practice. By incorporating technology, Dr. Martin strives to make dentistry easier, less invasive, and more convenient for his patients. He has been an active member in the CEREC Doctors Mentor Group since 2012, where he helps peers learn to fully utilize the potential of their CEREC machines.
Another group that Dr. Martin actively participates in is the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. He won a pre-doctoral award from the organization while still in dental school. In February 2011, Dr. Martin was awarded a Fellowship in the ICOI for extensive post-graduate education in the field of dental implants. In 2018, after several years’ more work, he was awarded Diplomate status in the organization, which is the highest award given. He has a passion for making implants accessible to patients, and combines his knowledge in both CEREC and implantology to place and restore dental implants in our office.
In addition to being a past president of the Illini District Dental Society, Dr. Martin served the dental community by serving on the Illinois State Dental Society’s Peer Review Committee as both and member and Chairman. Dr. Martin lives in Champaign with his wife, Joy, and two children, Madeline and Will. He enjoys traveling, scuba, and cooking in his free time.
